Nissan Takes the Z Sports Car Rallying with a Special SEMA Build

Nissan has unveiled a special edition of its iconic Z sports car at the ongoing SEMA Show in Las Vegas, designed specifically for rally racing. The new Z-NISMO RS is based on the 370Z NISMO and features numerous modifications to make it ready for competition on dirt and gravel surfaces.

"The Z has always been synonymous with performance and excitement, and this latest iteration takes that legacy to the next level," said Michael Bunel, Vice President of Product Planning and Operations at Nissan North America. "With its lightweight body, advanced suspension system, and powerful engine, the Z-NISMO RS is built to dominate on any race course."
Here are some key features of the Z-NISMO RS:

Lightweight Body: The Z-NISMO RS features an aerodynamically optimized lightweight body made from carbon fiber and Kevlar composite materials. This reduces weight while maintaining structural integrity, allowing for better handling and faster lap times.
Advanced Suspension System: The Z-NISMO RS boasts an updated suspension system featuring adjustable shock absorbers, stiffer springs, and revised bushings. This provides improved stability and control during high-speed cornering and braking.
Powerful Engine: Under the hood lies a tuned version of Nissan's 3.7-liter V6 engine producing over 450 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. This gives the Z-NISMO RS exceptional acceleration and top speed capabilities.

Race-Tuned Transmission: A specially developed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters allows drivers to quickly and smoothly execute gear changes during intense racing situations.

Braking Upgrades: High-performance brake rotors and calipers improve stopping power and fade resistance, ensuring consistent results even under heavy use.
Aggressive Aerodynamics: The Z-NISMO RS features a distinctive front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser designed to maximize downforce and reduce drag. These elements work together to create a stable and efficient package for rally racing.
Customizable Interior: Drivers can personalize their cockpit experience with premium Recaro seats, a custom steering wheel, and a special livery option.

To showcase the

Z-NISMO RS' potential, Nissan will compete in select national and international rally events throughout 2023. With its impressive spec sheet and proven track record, this limited-production model is poised to make waves in the world of motorsports.
