NOTE: Do not replace the center console cup holder assembly for this
incident, if it should occur.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Open the lid by pushing on its backside (see Fig. 2).

2. Align the hinge pin (pin) up to the opening at the end of the cup holder arm
(arm). See Fig. 3 and Fig. 4.

3. Close the lid (see Fig. 5).
l Push down on the lid enough for it to stay closed by itself.
l Make sure the arm and the pin stay aligned while closing (see Fig. 6).

4. Push down on the end of the lid until the pin snaps into the arm (see Fig. 6).

l After snapping in place, make sure there is no gap between the pin and lid
(see Fig. 7).
5. Verify repairs are complete by opening and closing the lid.

l Repairs can be done with the cup holder in the vehicle.
l Repairs shown are performed on the rear of the lid. Repairs to the front

l For Altima Sedan: Applies to M/T equipped models only .
CAUTION: Do not put any items in the cup holder that could keep the lid from
properly closing.
