1. Remove the door weatherstrip from the sash channel area of the upper door frame. Figure 3 shows a cutaway of the weatherstrip.

a. Carefully peel up the weatherstrip's "lower" ridge from its channel (see Figure 3).

b. Complete upper weatherstrip removal by pulling its "upper" ridge from its channel (see Figure 3).

2. Clean out the sash channel and the bottom of the weatherstrip.

^ Use a clean shop towel and isopropyl alcohol or equivalent cleaner (see Figure 4 and 5).

3. Apply two (2) beads of Nissan Weatherstrip Cement (cement) along the whole upper channel as shown in Figure 6.

NOTE:

Use Nissan Weatherstrip Cement only. See (PARTS INFORMATION).

^ Bead width: approximately 3/32 inch (2.5 mm).

^ Apply the beads the length of the channel, and 1/2 inch (13 mm) from each end.

4. Re-install the weatherstrip immediately after cement application as follows:

a. Press in the weatherstrip upper ridge into the upper channel.

b. While maintaining upward tension to keep it in the upper channel, press the weatherstrip's lower ridge into its channel.

^ If necessary, use a plastic "finesse stick" or similar trim tool to push the lower ridge over and into its channel (see Figure 7).

c. Using the plastic "finesse stick" or similar trim tool, push on the mid-section area to fully seat the weatherstrip (see Figure 8).

^ Run your finger down this area to feel for any high spots. High spots will indicate where the weatherstrip ridge is not fully seated.

^ Re-seat as needed.

5. Inspect proper weatherstrip installation by carefully lifting up on the weatherstrip slightly.
