The ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) provides a vehicle speed signal to the combination meter via
CAN communication lines.
DTC Logic
Diagnosis Procedure
Symptom: Displays "VEHICLE SPEED CIRC [B2205]" as a self-diagnosis result of combination meter.
1.CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL
1. Start engine and select "METER/M&A" on CONSULT-III.
2. Using "SPEED METER" on "DATA MONITOR", compare the value of DATA MONITOR with speedometer pointer of combination meter.
Speedometer and DATA MONITOR indications should be close.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis. See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
NO - Replace combination meter. See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair.

B2552 INTELLIGENT KEY
Description
Intelligent key unit performs engine start operation and steering lock control by cross checking ID with the Intelligent key.
DTC Logic
DTC DETECTION LOGIC
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Check "Self diagnostic result" with CONSULT-III.
Is DTC detected?
YES - See: B2552.
NO - Inspection End.
Diagnosis Procedure
1.REPLACE INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT
1. Replace Intelligent Key unit. See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Alarm Module/Service and Repair.
2. Perform initialization with CONSULT-III. Re-register all mechanical keys. Refer to "CONSULT-III Operation Manual".
3. Start the engine.
Does the engine start?
YES - Inspection End.
NO - Perform "DTC confirmation procedure". See: B2552.
Special Repair Requirement
1.REQUIRED WORK WHEN REPLACING INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT
Initialize control unit. Refer to CONSULT-III Operation Manual.

Description
Intelligent Key unit performs the ID verification with BCM that allows the engine to start. BCM starts the engine if the ID is OK and prevents the
engine from starting if the ID is not registered.
