Is Nissan leaving the UK?

There have been concerns about the future of Nissan's operations in the UK, but at the moment, the company has not announced any plans to leave the UK entirely.

Nissan has a large manufacturing plant in Sunderland, which is one of the company's largest factories in Europe. The plant produces a range of Nissan models, including the Qashqai, Juke, and LEAF, and employs around 6,000 people.

In recent years, there have been concerns about the impact of Brexit on Nissan's operations in the UK. Nissan has previously warned that a no-deal Brexit could make its Sunderland plant unsustainable, and the company has also expressed concerns about the future of free trade between the UK and the EU.

However, in 2019, Nissan announced that it would be investing £400m in the Sunderland plant to support the production of the next-generation Qashqai. This was seen as a positive sign for the future of Nissan's operations in the UK.

It's worth noting that the automotive industry is constantly evolving, and companies like Nissan often make changes to their operations in response to shifting market conditions. However, at the moment, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that Nissan is leaving the UK entirely.
